More Wine Please Garcon

Last night was the best law school class EVER.

It was our wine tasting class for Wine Law. We were technically learning about "wine appellations" which are rules about how you can label your wine. For example, in order to label your wine as being from "Napa Valley" 75% of the grapes have to be grown in the Napa Valley region.

He brought in 5 wines and we got to taste 2 at a time from real wine glasses! It was so much fun.

Of course, there was no place to spit. For the wussy's in the class, they got an extra wine glass to spit into. But most of the people (including myself) just ended up drinking it.

The first 2 were Pinot Noir's, one of which was made by our professor. I've never been much of a wine drinker before, but after learning how to do it right, you could actually taste the differences in the wine. Before they all just sort of tasted the same.

My favorite was actually the Prof's wine. And then this girl brought in some $40 bottles of Claret and we compared it to a Cabernet Sauvignon. The Cabernet was a $5 wine and actually wasn't too bad. haha.

But the best part! Our professor specializes in making dessert wine, so that was the last wine we tasted. It was super sweet, but it didn't have a surgery after taste.

Here's a fun fact, it's called dessert wine because of the higher alcohol content. Obviously it's sweeter, but it's the extra alcohol that makes it special. Most are made by adding brandy to the wine.

Apparently he was selling bottles of it at a discount, so I think I'm going to email him and ask to buy a bottle or two.

Ahahaha, and this is what i get out of my law school education.
